Traveler's Mind Writing Workshop: Jodhpur, Rajasthan
February 17-27, 2013
The workshop runs ten days, from Sunday, February 17 through Wednesday, February 27. Students arrive on the 17th, and the workshop begins that evening with orientation.
Please
note: you will fly to New Delhi (DEL), either through Europe or Asia. Once in Delhi, you fly to Jodhpur on the Air India flight that leaves at 12:15 (noon) on Sunday the 17th and arrives one hour later in Jodhpur, where you will be met. In booking your flight to Delhi, make sure you arrive by Sunday morning, with enough time to go through immigration, baggage and customs, and catch that noon flight – maybe an 8am arrival to be on the safe side. Air India has only one flight per day to Jodhpur. If you come early to spend a night or two in Delhi, we can recommend lodging.
When scheduling your departure, please note that the workshop ends in time for you to make the one daily flight back to Delhi—Air India's 2:15 flight on Wednesday, February 27. We'll get you to the airport. If you plan to leave India directly, you should allow three hours in Delhi; thus, your earliest international flight would be around 6:30pm. For those who want to extend their India trip beyond the workshop, we have suggestions for itineraries and lodging.
U.S. and Canadian citizens traveling to India DO need a tourist visa, good for six months. Just make sure your passport is valid for about 7 months beyond your visa application.
In January, we will send a more detailed schedule, including what to pack, along with a contact number for India.
