Traveler's Mind Writers Workshop: Veracruz, Mexico

El Tajín, photo UNESCO
Location of Veracruz, Mexico

October 24, 2008 - November 3, 2008

The workshop will run ten days, from Friday, October 24 through Monday, November 3. Students arrive on October 24, and the workshop begins that evening with orientation.

In Papantla we will stay at a hotel on the central plaza, eat in the various cafés around town, and hold classes in an upstairs gallery at the Casa de la Cultura.

Please note: this schedule requires that participants arrive by the afternoon of Friday, October 24. We fly into Mexico City and either take a bus from there, a scenic six-hour ride over the mountains, or take a second flight to Poza Rica and then a 45-minute bus ride to Papantla. For those who want to extend their trip to Mexico beyond the workshop, we can help with travel suggestions and plans.

In June, Traveler's Mind staff will send a reminder about passports, along with recommendations for immunizations and flights; in September we will send a more detailed schedule, including what to pack and contact numbers for Mexico.
